Wedding drummers in Dubai are booked above all for the grand entrance. The drummers wait at the door, start on the cue and walk in front of the couple or the groom, so every guest knows the moment has come. The style follows your family: a zaffa with Arabic frame drums, a dhol baraat for an Indian or Pakistani wedding, or African drummers for a big, joyful welcome. Drums can also open the dance floor after dinner or play live with the DJ.
Price: the cost depends on the drum style, the number of drummers, the number of entrances, travel and the date. See how much it costs to hire drummers.
Pick the entrance
Arabic and Khaleeji weddings: the zaffa. Frame drums, a bass drum and wedding songs walk the couple in. A zaffa entrance usually runs about 10 to 15 minutes. Many weddings do it twice, for the ladies' hall and the men's hall. See Arabic drummers and zaffa.
Indian and Pakistani weddings: the dhol. A dhol led baraat brings the groom to the venue with the family dancing in front. The dhol also returns for the sangeet and the couple's entrance at the reception. See dhol players.
Any wedding: African drummers. A group of djembe drummers walks the couple in, then holds the floor for a short show that gets everyone clapping. See African drummers.
Evening weddings: LED or water drums. After dinner, the room goes dark for a light show on drums, then the DJ takes over. See LED drummers and water drum show.
The drums in the running order
A common plan is to book a smaller act for each part of the night instead of one act for six hours. For example: soft music for arrivals and dinner, the drummers for the grand entrance, a show during dinner, then a band or a DJ for the rest of the night. Mixed weddings often add an Arabic or South Asian segment to a Western style night, with the drums as the bridge between the two. Send us the running order, and we time the drums around it.
Plan the entrance with the venue
Agree three things with the venue before you book: where the drummers wait, the route they walk, and the time. Hotels and resorts usually need a permit for live performance and set their own sound rules. Outdoor and beach weddings usually have a sound curfew around 11pm to midnight, sometimes earlier, so place the drums before it. Give the drummers a clear path free of cables, candles and flower stands.
Book early in the season
The October to April wedding season fills first, and weekend dates book up early. Send your date as soon as you have the venue.
